The track above is by a superb band, Joy Division. Sadly, the lead singer Ian Curtis killed himself back in the 1980s and the band stopped performing for a while until they began again as New Order. The band was from Manchester, the nearest city to where I live, and it was a hit as I met the 'Thing' that destroyed my life. Ultimately until now you could say that what I thought was love really has torn me apart.

Back in 1987 when I married the woman who was to become 'Pheobe' meaning 'Psycho Bitch from Hell'; the Scot's man in a Skirt (sorry it was a kilt) said in his Bride's father speech, 'There will be hills in your life and there will be valleys. May your valleys be broad and your hills gentle.'

Until I met the woman who was to become my wife I had never really had a 'proper' girlfriend. Indeed the first time I had sex with my soon to be wife was the time I lost my virginity at the age of 24. Whilst interested in women, the real interest was in what they were wearing, their makeup and feminine whiles. Since my very early teens I had the overwhelming desire to be a girl, Although I knew that sadly I would, of course be unable to experience the changes that puberty bring to girls and future pregnancy was physically out of the question!!!!

For several years my then friends had pushed me towards getting a girlfriend to 'Prove my manhood'. The pressures of society was to 'be a man'. One evening when the woman who became my wife came into the bar I used to go into, she saw me and started acting like a man herself as she started 'chatting me up.' She asked me if I was going to a certain pub. It was then I made the biggest mistake of my life and said, "Yes"
